WHAT WE DO

INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANTS
The IA’s duties are different from that of an EA, as they provide teaching skills that require certification papers such as that of a chef, baker or mechanic.
EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS
The EA’s duties will vary depending on needs of the student and school but may include:  assisting exceptional students with mental, physical, mobility, communication or behavioural support and programming.  We assist with personal hygiene, physical needs, and we interpret or transcribe for students with visual or hearing exceptionalities.  We implement therapeutic programs under the direction of special education instructors, psychologists, physiotherapists or speech-language pathologists.
